10. International Communication in The Internet Age

This chapter tackles the different factors that contributed to the rise of the new age which is the age of the internet. Indeed, this technological shift wasn’t without consequences and it has definitely played a huge role in the changes that came afterwards on the socio-economic level. Since it’s network-based, this new phenomenon of the internet has been spread all over the world within a short period of time. This way of making the internet worldwide had a great impact on the world on many levels. In fact, much old media started literally disappearing in proportion with the advancement of the technologies and internet. Many new brand technologies were introduced to the market and everyone from all over the world started being involved in the sphere. Intercultural communication and business communication were the two sectors that have been influenced by the introduction of internet across the world. The different kinds of software that were present in the platform were very helpful in terms of keeping the communication possible across very far countries. Especially concerning the business communication, the internet was a way to keep constant and effective contact between customers and suppliers. On the other side, intercultural communication is a space where many cultures have been mixed and merged to sub-cultures such as the cyber culture. Indeed, it’s about the use of the same platforms so that people stay connected to each other and the two-ways communication is easier to establish. 

Thanks to the rise the of the internet and the spread of this technology over the world, many users benefitted from this in order to change their way of life and consume more wisely. The introduction of the internet in the users’ lives has emerged into transmitting different types of data over the distance and through the wireless.

Concerning the interpersonal communication that was a product of the introduction of the internet was enhanced by facilitating the means of communication such as software and hardware. These means especially keep the familial ties and communicating with siblings from different countries in the world. I personally think that internet was a huge facilitator for many services such as online shopping or studying such as virtual courses for many levels. Indeed, the internet makes the user’s life easier since everything is typed from an electronic device that can be connected to the internet.
